Leaving School?

BEFORE you turn 17?

Leaving school before you turn 17 can be as tricky as teaching a dog to play chess.

You are able to leave school if you tick these boxes:

  • get permission from your school
  • get permission from the Department of Education
  • get a full time apprenticeship or job

You MIGHT be able to enrol at TAFE if:

  • you have successfully completed Year 10 and are not quite 17… (but you still need permission from authorities).

Research shows (over and over again) that staying at secondary school, for as long as humanly possible, means that you are far more likely to succeed in your career life (later on).

Still not convinced? Perhaps you could try and teach a dog to play chess or enrol at a different (alternative) school!
